![]() It isn’t the weather, because it “worked” during the hot summer months. I don’t smell terrible, but I smell me occasionally, even wearing natural fibers. After 3 months or so, it’s about half as effective. I was always skeptical when reviewers said a deodorant or other product stopped working after a period of time, but this is what happened with Lume. (Yes, I “prepped” them as directed, see grievance #4) Unfortunately, my work polos and gym clothes are blends, and Lume is almost like using no deodorant when I wear them. From the beginning, Lume worked for me for the entire day (DEFINITELY not the 72 hours they advertise), only if I wore cotton, wool, or linen tops. The smell lessens over time, but I still get whiffs through the day, and they’re gross. Others, (Tangerine) actually seem to make the smell WORSE. Some of their scents are strong enough to cover it up (Jasmine Rose), but then of course you get the strong smell of that. ![]() Have you ever laid down on your pillow, only to realize that your pet has been drooling on it? Yeah. The best thing I’ve come up with is that it smells like dried spit. The smell of Lume’s core product is unpleasant. I had high hopes for Lume, but here are my grievances: Lume deodorant free#I have been searching for a coconut oil free (allergic), baking soda free (gnarly irritation) “natural” deodorant for years. ![]() I have not tried the solid sticks, and I don’t plan to because, well, of the experience I had with all their other products. It’s my understanding that Lume made the solid sticks because people like me complained about the smell of the cream (stick and tube) product. The best thing about this list is it doesn’t end here.-Note: I made this post before the solid stick versions came out.
